Pelsung – Innovate For GMC Officially Launched

In a momentous ceremony on October 8, 2025, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck officially launched the Pelsung – Innovate for GMC Challenge at the Gelephu Mindfulness City development site. The event marked a pivotal moment in Bhutan's youth empowerment and innovation landscape.

The Challenge

The Innovate for GMC Challenge is a nation-wide initiative designed to engage young Bhutanese innovators in developing solutions aligned with the Gelephu Mindfulness City's core principles. Participants work on four distinct challenge domains that directly contribute to building a sustainable, prosperous, and mindful city.

What's Next

Following the official launch, registration opened for the first cohort of participants. Over 500 young innovators expressed interest within the first week, exceeding expectations and demonstrating the nation's appetite for youth-led innovation and positive change.
